MUNCHKIN Martingale collar is ideal for pulling dogs that tend to slip out of their regular collar, dogs in training and simply whenever you need more control of your pup. The thickness of the collar and chain is in proportion to the size of collar and ensures the perfect fit, comfort and durability. This collar features a chain attached to the leather making the collar extra strong and creates the classic 'chain sound' which is considered by many dogs as an audible signal to stop pulling.
With its rounded design and no outside seam, Munchkin prevents matting, rubbing and irritation around the neck area. It provides optimal comfort for your pet and is crafted with hand stitched details from Italy's softest sustainably made leather. The leather is pure and clean to ensure it is the most natural and hypoallergenic material for a pet to wear.
Martingale Collar Measurement Guide:
The size of the collar reflects the size at the smallest setting, meaning when your dog is on the leash pulling until the collar is completely closed. When the collar is resting on the dog, it is open and loose around their neck.
When measuring for a Martingale collar ensure that the collar is snug enough around the neck so it doesn't slip off when the dog is pulling. At the same time you want to ensure there is some room between the neck and collar so the collar doesn't choke the dog while pulling.
It is recommended to purchase same size collar your dog currently wears. Follow the directions below to find the correct size.
Place your dog's current collar on a flat surface (if it is a buckle collar, put the buckle into the hole that fits the best for this measurement). Use a flexible tape measure and measure the inside circumference of the collar. Keep the tape measure snug against the collar when measuring. Make sure to measure the ENTIRE circle of the collar, including any hardware. DO NOT pick up the collar when measuring.
You can measure any style of collar, as long as it will slip on and off the dog's head. The most important thing to remember is to always measure the internal circumference of the collar.
